Wolves in the wall
After watching a fantastic, dramatic performance of the story 'Wolves in the wall' by Simon Sullivan', Year 5 and 6 began a collaborative creative writing project.
We enjoyed having the opportunity to work with different children and teachers, engaging in a variety of creative writing opportunities, peer and self editing and then finally performing their pieces to create an audio link with a QR code.
Our Class novel this term is 'Holes' by Louis Sachar
Persuasive Writing 31.10.17
We had a spooky day, writing advertisements for 'Terror TV' the spooky shopping channel for Halloween characters. We were very persuasive with our entertaining adverts
We have studied a story called Way Home. It is about a boy who finds a cat who he wants to keep as his companion. Shane is homeless. The illustrations tell the story, they contain lots of details and we have developed our inference skills by interpreting the images.
Roald Dahl Day
To celebrate Roald Dahl Day, we dressed up as his famous characters and created our own poetry in the style of Dahl inspired by George's Marvellous Medicine.
We looked at Quentin Blake who famously illustrated all of Roald Dahl's books. Following his master class, we created characters inspired by Quentin Blake.
