EAST LANCASHIRE RAILWAY, BURY
On Thursday 19th April, we dressed as evacuees and went to the East Lancashire Railway. We spent time exploring objects that would have been used in World War Two. We got to play some of the games a child would have used and we got to go inside an air raid shelter too. Around lunchtime we went on the steam train so we could experience what it would have been like for an evacuee. We loved our class trip!
EASTER EGG COMPETITION
We all made some fantastic creations to enter our annual Easter egg competition.
The whole school took part in a fitness assembly to raise money for Sports Relief. We also completed a fitness circuit. We were very tired after all this exercise. But we managed to raise money for a good cause.
WORLD BOOK DAY
For world book day we all dressed in bedtime clothes, brought our favourite bedtime story and a teddy. We shared bedtime stories with the younger children in school and we created our own pop up story books.
On Monday 12th March Year 4 took part in a whole school celebration of Science. We wanted to investigate if you can change the shape of a bubble. We did lots of observing investigations too.
We were treated to a special session with Drumz aloud. We had lots of fun and had sore arms by the end of our session.
CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR YEAR 3 AND 4
On Thursday 14th December we all came dressed in our party clothes to celebrate Christmas. We did lots of dancing, played games and had some tasty treats.
CHRISTMAS PRODUCTION - Christmas is forever
Key Stage Two took part in Christmas is forever. In Year 4 our roles were spies and bad guys.
On Wednesday 6th December we had a special workshop and we made Victorian lanterns.
CHRISTMAS TREE SERVICE 2017
On Friday 1st December 2017 the whole school came together to celebrate the start of Christmas. We sang festive songs and hung our hand made decorations on the Christmas tree. It is one of the best days of the year.
One afternoon we took part in a team building activity using the parachute. We all had lots of fun and we were able to use our Blackrod values during the session. We used teamwork, determination and success.
KS2 HALLOWEEN DISCO
On Thursday 2nd November Key Stage Two had their Halloween Disco. We had lots of fun and our costumes were amazing!
We took part in the Key Stage Two Harvest assembly. We sung songs and told the audience about the importance of a healthy diet.
ROALD DAHL DAY
On Wednesday 13th September the whole school celebrated Roald Dahl day. We were all invited to come dressed as a character from a book by Roald Dahl. Even Mrs McGrail and Mrs Lucas joined in.
Our chosen text was The Witches because we are reading it as part of our class novel. During the day we created our own wanted witch posters and had a special art lesson from Mrs Cooke on how to draw a witch.
