Geography Theme Day
On Thursday 11th January we had a Geography theme day where we focused on Chester. We were developing our mapping skills and looking into the geographical aspects of Chester.
We used our knowledge of map symbols and created some 3D maps. The children worked really hard and created some fantastic pieces of art.
First we used Digi Map and developed out knowledge of grid references, map symbols and measured distances from one place to another. we also inputted images onto the maps.
Information Leaflets on Chester
We used the laptops, Britannica website and Publisher to make our leaflets on Chester and developed our knowledge of the built-up area.
A visit to the Octagon
On the 8th January, we were invited to the Octagon Theatre to watch the play of 'A Christmas Carol'. The children were impeccably behaved and loved the show. They even got a few pictures with the cast at the end.
A Christmas Carol Workshop
In year 5 we have been very lucky to have a workshop on the story of 'A Christmas Carol' from a member of the Octagon Theatre. We all got into Character and completed a scene from the play.
