Spring 2 - Learning Challenge

History - Why did the Titanic Sink?

Welcome aboard the Titanic. In class we have been learning about the events that took place in April 1912. The children have gone back in time and boarded the Titanic (the largest ship to be built at that time). We have dined with Captain Edward Smith and danced on the ballroom floor of the upper deck. So far so good, let's hope we do not meet any icebergs!

Spring 1 - Learning Challenge

Geography - What would the Troll think of Blackrod?

We are busy exploring our locality. We went for a walk around Blackrod to look at the facilities that we have in our village.

Autumn 2 - Learning Challenge

History - Why was Mother Teresa brave and courageous?

This is a cross-curricular link with English. Children have been using the skills taught in the autumn term to collect and write facts about Mother Teresa. This history topic has also been linked to our Geography topic on India.

Autumn 1 - Learning Challenge

Geography - Where would you prefer to live: England or India?

For the first half term we will be comparing England to India. The children have come up with lots of questions that they want to find the answers to.
