About us

All parents and teachers at Blackrod Primary School automatically become members of our thriving Parents’, Teachers’ and Friends’ Association. The friends of the PTFA consist of individuals  who contribute and support us in our endeavour to raise funds and awareness to benefit the children in different ways.

Why do we have a PTFA?
We are very fortunate at our school to have a PTFA that is, and has been, such an integral part of the school community for many years. In its time the PTFA have raised thousands of pounds, which as been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children's education and the in school facilities in general.

The Committee
The PTFA Committee consists of:

Chair - Ian Dryburgh

Vice Chair - Amanda Merga
Treasurer -  Judith Parker
Secretary - Leanne

We co-ordinate many events were parental help is needed, be it running stalls at the Christmas Fair and Summer Fair, breakfast with Santa, Family Quizes, refreshments at School Events and the School discos.

How we spend the money we raise
Spending decisions are taken during PTFA Committee meetings. The funds that we raise are spent in a variety of ways ranging from Headteacher / School requests to suggestions from parents. Any requests are discussed at the meeting so that parents are aware and can contribute to how the money is used. We endeavour to spend the monies quickly so you can be sure by supporting our PTFA, your child and others will soon feel the benefit.

Over the last few years money raised has gone towards
