Autumn Term News Letters

Friday 2nd November

What a fantastic first week we have had! We started the week with a visit from Mr Wood and Mr Murphy to learn all about Bill Naughton which was extremely interesting. We have been looking at number involving multiplication and division in maths this week to brush up on our methods. To end our week, we have completed our Class Assembly which we thoroughly enjoyed and hope you did to! Thank you to everyone who came.

Next week, we are starting the week with a visit from the Music Service to kick start our Arts Award journey where we will be having a Gamalan workshop.

We also have Diwali day on Wednesday - don't forget to wear something bright or if you have some traditional clothing that would be brilliant.

Children have been given a piece of homework this week along with their spellings to refresh themselves on the column method of addition and subtraction. This needs to be completed and brought back to school by Thursday as we will be going through it together in Maths.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Sewart and the Ringgold Team.

(The designs look amazing!)

The children who took part in Yoga yesterday really enjoyed it and the other half of the class with be having their first session next Thursday.

Spellings have been handed out to the children so please can these be practised at home ready for our spelling quiz on Thursday next week.

Another fab week has been had in Ringgold class. We have been doing lots of descriptive writing this week which has developed and improved dramatically!

Next week we will be starting our space, spray paint projects with Sam who will be visiting us on a weekly basis to complete this work.

The children will also be starting Yoga sessions on a Thursday as of next week. This will take place during lunch time and will be half of the class at a time. Children need to make sure PE kits are in on this day.

ART: Anyone with any polystyrene sheets at home that can be donated for our art work (printing) would be extremely appreciated - could this be brought into school by Thursday.

Again just a reminder for children to be practicing spellings, times tables and reading on a regular basis!

Thank You,

It was lovely to see so many parents at the Meet the Teacher Evening last night. I hope that you found the evening helpful and had some of your questions answered. Those who did not attend, I have sent home letter with your children; one regarding PGL and another regarding GDPR please could the GDPR letter be signed and back in school for Monday as it is very important that all children have this form signed ASAP.

Just a quick reminder that we have meet the teacher evening this Thursday, Thursday 20th September, at 7.20-8.00pm where you will be informed of what is to come throughout the year in Ringgold and any dates/information you need to be aware of. We look forward to seeing you there.

In Art next week we will be working with polystyrene to complete printing of Zentangle patterns, so if you happen to have any sheets of polystyrene from pizza or anything else at home we would be very grateful if you could send it in to school for Thursday afternoon please!
