Our Governors

Our Governing Board plays an active part in the life of our School, ensuring the school is run and constantly develops in a way which meets very high standards for our children's learning.

In March 2024, in the OFSTED inspection, governors were judged as outstanding in their effectiveness, contributing to the schools remarkable achievement of being judged Outstanding in every area assessed.

Inspectors said that "Collectively, governors, leaders at all levels and staff are determined to provide the highest quality of education for pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). They are successful, yet they are not complacent. Governors deploy their wide-ranging expertise to strong effect to offer high levels of challenge and support to the school. They have highly effective processes in place to ensure that they have an accurate and comprehensive view of the quality of the education that the school provides."

We have 3 key areas of responsibility:

1. Strategic vision, leadership, ethos and values – we work with the School, children, parents and local community to identify a strategic plan.

2. Hold the Head Teacher to account and performance management – Providing support and relevant challenge to the School and the leadership team.

3. Ensuring financial value – Working with the School to create a spending plan to support the School's main objectives, ensuring money is well spent and providing benefit to the children.

We will develop our strategic vision with input from children, staff, parents, and the community. Look for engagement activities in the coming months to help shape our school's future.

Our Strategic Vision

The strategic vision will be led by input from key stakeholders such as the children, senior leadership team, staff, parents/carers and the wider School community. Keep a look-out for engagement activities in the coming months. These engagement activities will be a real opportunity to help shape the future of our wonderful school.

Our Board

Our Governing Board is highly effective because of the range of people and the experience they bring to the School. We are always open to, and welcoming, people from across our community who would like to add to this mix of passionate people.

Volunteering to become a School governor is a great way to contribute to your local community and improve the lives of local children. You could be a parent or carer, a member of our local community, or from the wider community.

You don't need to have educational expertise, or to have previous experience of governance or management, but you do need to be passionate about our children, their School experience and the future of our School. You should be willing to ask questions and to provide both constructive challenge and support as part of the team.
