Youth Council

Year 6 have four children who are Youth Councillors. They were elected by the rest of the children in school and attend regular meetings with the Blackrod Council at the Council Chambers. They meet with the Mayor and are invited to share their opinions on local issues. They wear blue council jumpers so that children around school can recognise them.

Visit to the Mayor's parlour

The Youth Council were invited to visit the Mayor's parlour in Bolton. They were given a guided tour by the Deputy Mayor and were amazed by the re-furbished rooms in the town hall. They were beautifully decorated and the children found out lost of interesting information about events that have happened there over the years.

Have a look at some of the photographs that they took on the afternoon.
