We learnt about the importance of Remembrance Day to our Village and Country. We used the well known World War 1 poem 'In Flanders Field' to inspire our whole class poems and created poppies from different materials to remember the people who fought and continue to fight for our Country. We shared our learning with the rest of the school and then all observed the 2 minutes silence.
As a School we dressed in spots for Children In Need and learnt about the amazing projects they fund within the UK. We started the day with a whole school fitness assembly, and everyone got involved. In class we brainstormed lots of ways that we could fundraise and created posters to promote these fundraising ideas. We shared our fantastic ideas with the rest of the school in a special assembly.
As we begin to prepare for Christmas we joined the rest of the school to decorate the Christmas Tree and spread Christmas cheer. Even the Mayor of Blackrod came to help! Mrs Burt and Mrs Law thought we all looked marvellous in our Christmas Jumpers.
We had a fantastic day having breakfast with Santa and getting our certificates that say we are on the Nice list. In the afternoon we had so much fun dancing and playing party games in the hall. We had a visit from Father Christmas and then enjoyed a party tea, with our delicious festive jelly for pudding.
As part of Internet Safety Day we discussed how to stay safe online. We sorted which information about ourselves is safe to share and which is personal to us and therefore unsafe.
We loved learning about why we eat pancakes and really enjoyed having a go at flipping and tasting the pancakes.
