Home learning this week is to continue with TTRS, spelling shed and I have also asked the class to keep a diary over the weekend and bring this in on Monday to share with the everyone. I am aware that some children already keep diaries, however, I have asked for this to be done on paper. This is to avoid children bringing in personal diaries. I have also asked for any information that they do not wish to share with the class to be left out.

Friday 6th September

Welcome back!

We have had a lovely few days settling back in and getting used to routines. It has been lovely to see how much the class have grown as individuals and in confidence.

I am very excited about this year, there are lots of fun and exciting opportunities for Mackintosh. We will be working closely with Ringgold a few afternoons a week to enhance the children’s learning. They are enjoying the responsibility of being the oldest in the school and setting the standard. Monitor jobs have been given out, the children are taking to these extremely well.

Reading books have been chosen by the children and these can be changed as and when they finish the book. Diaries are due to arrive in the next few weeks.

Just a few reminders:

Earrings are not to be worn in school and need taking out ASAP.

Water bottles should be in school every day.

PE kits need to be in school all week.

Children are expected to do 30 minutes reading a day.

Forest school is on a Thursday for the next 6 weeks, children need to bring suitable clothing and footwear for being outside.

Home learning will be set weekly, starting from next week. This will consist of: spelling shed, times table rock stars, and occasionally cracking comprehension.

Have a lovely weekend, the Mackintosh team.
