Friday 18th December

 

This week we have been very busy and festive. We have enjoyed our Christmas party, drama workshop and finishing off our science topic. 

 

Enjoy your Christmas break and we would love to send a big thank you for all of our lovely gifts.

This week we have created fun poems, in the style of Matt Goodfellow.

Friday 4th December

This week we have been writing diary entries in the role of Shane. We have also been experimenting with sound and testing how sound changes due to the distance from the source.

Friday 27th November

We have continued working on the text ‘Way Home’. The children are enjoying looking at the hidden meanings within the story.

Friday 20th November

We have completed work on the world biomes and climate zones.

In English we have started work based on the book ‘Way Home’.

  • An extra activity this week is to complete the work set on teams and hand this in using the online platform (all passwords and logins have been given to the children).

Friday 13th November

 

We have been locating famous mountains, hills and rivers and discussing why people like to visit these places. We have also been learning about longitude and latitude.

We have continued learning about WW2 and the impact on British life. We have compared this to the current situation we are living in.

Thursday 22nd October

We have continued learning about WW2. We have been ordering events and learning about rationing, D Day and the different leaders.

Optional home learning for UKS2 over half term will be:

  • MACKINTOSH ONLY – you have 1 week to learn the fraction, decimal percentage equivalents. (There will be  test)

This week we started learning about WW2. The children have shown enthusiasm towards this topic and are enjoying learning about the conflict between the Allied and Axis powers.

We have completed our DT topic of researching, tasting and making our own savoury scones.

We have started to compare Blackrod, London, South and North America. We are tracking temperature, precipitation and comparing locations as they are now and in the past as well as to each other.

Friday 9th September

WELCOME BACK!

It has been lovely to see the school full of children again and they have settled in extremely well.

This week we have been getting used to our new routines and have completed lots of great work.

We have been focusing on class artists, looking at different art skills and their history.

Ringgold will have PE on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mackintosh will have PE on Thursday and Friday. Forest school will be on a Monday for Mackintosh. Children are able to come to school in their clothes, please bring a change of shoes in a carrier bag.
