Weekly updates

Thursday 22nd October

We have continued learning about WW2. We have been ordering events and learning about rationing, D Day and the different leaders.

Optional home learning for UKS2 over half term will be:

  • Spelling shed
  • Cracking comprehension
  • TTRS
  • MACKINTOSH ONLY – you have 1 week to learn the fraction, decimal percentage equivalents. (There will be  test)

Read independently or share their book with an adult 3x per week for 30 minutes and have their diary signed with a short comment.

 

All home learning tasks will be checked, if not completed children will be required to complete them during lunchtimes.

Friday 16th October

This week we started learning about WW2. The children have shown enthusiasm towards this topic and are enjoying learning about the conflict between the Allied and Axis powers.

Home learning for UKS2 this week will be:

  • Spelling shed
  • Cracking comprehension
  • TTRS
  • MACKINTOSH ONLY – you have 2 weeks to learn the fraction, decimal percentage equivalents. (There will be  test)

To be completed by Thursday.

Read independently or share their book with an adult 3x per week for 30 minutes and have their diary signed with a short comment.

We have continued to compare Blackrod, London, South and North America. We have compared ordnance, topological and aerial maps.

Home learning for UKS2 this week will be:

  • MACKINTOSH ONLY – you have 3 weeks to learn the fraction, decimal percentage equivalents. (There will be  test)

To be completed by Thursday.

Friday 2nd October

We have completed our DT topic of researching, tasting and making our own savoury scones.

We have started to compare Blackrod, London, South and North America. We are tracking temperature, precipitation and comparing locations as they are now and in the past as well as to each other.

Home learning for UKS2 this week will be:

  • Cracking comprehension
  • TTRS
  • MACKINTOSH ONLY – you have 4 weeks to learn the fraction, decimal percentage equivalents. (There will be  test)

To be completed by Thursday.

We have continued our learning about the digestive and circulatory system, evolution, adaptation and inheritance. We have also started our DT topic of researching, tasting and moving on to making our own savoury scones.

Home learning for UKS2 this week will be:

Friday 9th September

WELCOME BACK!

It has been lovely to see the school full of children again and they have settled in extremely well.

This week we have been getting used to our new routines and have completed lots of great work.

We have been focusing on class artists, looking at different art skills and their history.

Ringgold will have PE on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mackintosh will have PE on Thursday and Friday. Forest school will be on a Monday for Mackintosh. Children are able to come to school in their clothes, please bring a change of shoes in a carrier bag.
