Friday 16th October 2020

We’ve had a wonderful week. We have learnt all about the teeth and their functions. We continued to work hard in our fitness sessions and enjoyed playing football.

In maths we have continued to work column addition and subtraction and also explored comparing numbers, ordering numbers and rounding numbers to 1000.

In English we have started our new book 'George's Marvellous Medicine'. We created our own 'medicine' and wrote about how each ingredient would turn Grandma into a nicer Grandma. We used prepositions to describe where each ingredient was in our medicine. We had so much fun!

It’s been another great week, the children have produced some amazing pieces of work. We have continued our Humans and Animals science project this week.  We explored our own diets and looked at proteins, diary and alternatives, carbohydrates and fruit and veg. We then looked at how we can make ourselves healthier and improve our diet to ensure we have enough energy. We have continued our class novel, The Worst Witch; we have created story maps and started to write our version with an event and a solution. This half term we are on our Place Value unit in maths. The focus this week has been: rounding to the nearest 10 and 100, 100s,100s,10s and 1s and number lines.
