R.E
CHINESE NEW YEAR 2016
We spent a full day learning about Chinese New Year. We learnt that the celebrations this year were for the year of the monkey. We did lots of creative activities throughout the day like making lanterns and we all worked together on a huge dragon collage.
'What does it mean to be a Muslim?'
This term we are going to be learning about what it is like to be a Muslim. In a few weeks we are going to have a visit from Mrs Ansari so we have been very busy preparing some questions that we would like to ask her.
'Why is light important in religions?'
As part of the challenge curriculum in R.E we have been finding out why light is important to Hindu's. We have looked at the festival of Diwali and we know it was celebrated in November 2015.
We have read the story of Rama and Sita, learned how Hindu's celebrate Diwali and we even got to make our own Diva lamps out of clay. Have a look at our fantastic Diva lamps!
'How do Christians and Muslims say thank you for the Natural World?'
We have been reflecting why and when we say thank you to others. We will be looking at the Christian festival of harvest and understanding how Muslims say thank you to God by praying.
